One of my candidates asked me – How can I improve my interviewing skill?
The following suggestions will increase your success rate:
Homework: Before attending the interview, visit the potential employer’s website to get more insight into their business, product, service, performance, culture, leadership, and customers’ feedback. Prepare your questions in advance.
Present: To respect your interviewers, sign in to your interviewing meeting or arrive 5-10 minutes earlier at the interview venue. Settle down and get yourself ready.
Dress Code: Dress appropriately to your position to show your professionalism and respect the interviewers and yourself.
Communication skills: Speak confidently with appropriate eye contact to the interviewers and volume. Treasure the opportunity to introduce yourself with essential info that increases the interviewers’ interest level about you.
Listening: Actively listen to the questions, wait until the interviewers finish their inquiries, and respond appropriately. Give a specific example, if possible, when you answer the question.
Closing: Why must the Company hire you? Demonstrate your appreciation for the interviewers’ time and opportunity, highlight your distinctive value, difference, capability, adaptability, potential, and contribution to the potential employer.
In summary, be authentic of who you are and follow up with your interest if this is the right career you are interested in pursuing. Commit yourself if the offer arrives.
